The purpose of this article is to review the evidence for alternations in function of ACE, particularly as it relates to acute illness. For convenience, the diseases will be grouped according to categories. Diseases that have been described in only one article and diseases having normal ACE function will not be discussed, but this information can be obtained from a more general review.
