MIL-STD-210C: An Improved Menu of Climatic Data to Nourish the Design and Testing Community

Climatic Requirements and Guidelines for Developing Military Equipment is the result of dialog emanating from engineers, scientists, people in standardization, those involved in acquisition, individuals in the testing community, and others who might best be described as philosophers. It is the result of a tri-service effort aimed at optimizing presentations of climatic data for use in the design and testing of military material. This paper presents a look at the new revision with emphasis on changes in philosophy and content from the current version. To fulfill its intended purpose, military equipment must be designed and tested for the extremes of the natural environment to which it will be exposed. (Reprints)
