摘要

The objective of this work was to investigate the capability of 15W-40 lubricants to meet the frictional requirements of military powershift and automatic transmissions; and, if required, provide a procedures for selecting acceptable lubricants for application under the MIL-L-2104D specification. A variety of lubricants were evaluated were evaluated during this test program. The oils included DDA C-3 pass and fail reference oils, five MIL-L-2104D oils, and two special experimental oils. Four of the nine test lubricants were 15W-40 oils. The test lubricants were evaluated for torque, sliptime, and disc/plate were using a modified DDA C-3 friction test. Various bronze frictions materials used extensively in Allison combat/tactical automatic and powershift transmission were tested under varying operating conditions. Keywords: Lubricants; Transmissions: Friction retention; Torque, Sliptime; Wear; Bronze Disc.
