摘要

The purpose of this report was to evaluate the hydraulic characteristics of mudflow events resulting from a hypothetical failure of Castle Lake (a debris blockage on the north fork of the Toutle River, caused by the Mount St. Helens eruption on 18 May 1980) and to examine the ability of a downstream sediment retention structure (SRS) to capture and pass such events through an emergency spillway.
