Modulation of local density of states in Bi2Sr1.6La0.4CuO6+delta observed by scanning tunneling spectroscopy

Modulation of the coherence peak height has been observed in optimally doped Bi2Sr1.6La0.4CuO6+delta, at 4.2 K. The modulation has a periodicity of about five lattice constants along with Cu-O-Cu bond direction. It is found that this modulation anti-correlates with the modulation of the local density of states below 15 meV. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
