PetroVietnam Signs Syndicated Loan To Help Fund Building of PP Plant

Hanoi-PetroVietnam said it has signed an agreement with three international banks for a $145.7-million syndicated loan to help finance construction of a polypropylene (PP) plant in Vietnam's Quang Nam province (PCN, 20 Apr 09, p 4). The 150,000-t/y PP plant is being built at Dung Quat and is expected to begin trial operations in the first quarter of 2010. It will receive propylene feedstock from PetroVietnam's recently completed 6.5-million-t/y Dung Quat refinery.
