PetroVietnam Secures $180-Million Loan To Help Fund Ca Mau Fertilizer Project

Hanoi-Vietnam Oil and Gas (PetroVietnam) said it has signed a $180-million loan agreement with Vietnam Development Bank that will help finance its $900-million Ca Mau fertilizer plant (PCN, 12 Oct 09, p 2). The Ca Mau project, located in Khanh An, involves an 800,000-t/y urea plant, on which engineering, procurement and construction work had been 53.73% completed as of June 2010. Natural gas feedstock will come from Vietnam's offshore PM3-CAA field. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2012.
