摘要

In the paper, a system of vectorization of discrete binary images is proposed, which is based on approximation of the image by a polygonal figure. On the basis of this figure, we construct continuous models of the discrete binary image, namely, boundary, skeleton, and circular models. This approach results in efficient complex analysis of the image boundary and skeleton. The system includes data structures and an XML-based language for description and storage of continuous models, as well as software for constructing representations of binary raster images and image processing and visualization.
