THE COUNTRY'S landmark election saw the Shia and Kurdish blocs emerge triumphant in the new 275-seat Transitional National Assembly(TNA),charged with formulating a new constitution for a democratic Iraq.The success of the election process,despite the boycott by Sunni Iraqis,has raised expectations that the new political dispensation could begin the process of overhauling the oil sector and preparing the ground for long-term upstream investment through a new legal framework.
