Egypt’s decision to fast-track the development of its 30 trillion ft3 (850bn m3) Zohr natural gas field could disrupt neighbouring Israel’s plans for its offshore gas assets, the IEA says in its Medium-Term Gas Market Report. Development of Israel’s Leviathan and Tamar deepwater fields is contingent on finding an outlet for exports, as Israel’s domestic market is not large enough to absorb production.
