What's in a name?: Removing the term nonanesthesiologists from the sedation dialogue

Despite calls from anesthesiologists and others for its elimination, the American Society of Anesthesiologists has continued to use the term nonanesthesiologists in its policy statements pertaining to procedural sedation and analgesia. It would be advantageous and politically prudent to replace such phrasing for the following reasons.
