Investment casting on the eve of the third millennium

10 years passed from the origin of the Investment Casting Association. The Investment Casting Association is an interest group of legal and natural persons. Investment casting foundries, research institutes, universities, manufacturers of raw materials, of semiproducts, of equipment, and other bodies oriented to the field of investment casting are associated here. Investment castings in price of 1 thousand million Czech crowns are made in the Czech and in the Slovak Republics at present. Investment casting foundries employ about 1000 workers. It is satisfying that almost in all investment casting foundries a successful transformation has taken place, these foundries are aimed at quality improvement, new business contacts are put, the cooperation with designers from the branches that until recently did not know what it is an investment casting and which savings it brings is linked up. It is indisputable success of investment casting foundries in the Czech and the Slovak Republics that more than 50 percent of the all output of investment castings is nowadays destined for exporting in European Union countries. Foundries are orientated on principle at meeting requirements of their customers and it results in the absolute ability of investment castings from Czech and Slovak foundries to compete on foreign markets.
