摘要

Nanocrystalline silicon nitride matrix compositeswith dispersed nano-size titanium nitride (TiN) particles wereprepared by sintering nanostructured composite powdercomposed of nano-size silicon nitride, TiN particles andamorphous titanium, the nanostructured composite powder wasproduced by high energy milling of silicon nitride powder andtitanium powder. The sintering temperature decreased withincreasing titanium content. The structure of the sintered bodywas characterized by SEM, TEM and TEM-EDX. The sinteredbody was composed of #alpha#-silicon nitride matrix whosegrain size was about 20-30 nm in diameter and dispersed TiNparticles whose diameter was about 50nm.
