We derive, the time-dependent solution of the effective master equation for the reduced density matrix operator of a strongly driven atom coupled to a frequency-tunable cavity and damped by a squeezed vacuum. The effects of different parameters on the entropy squeezing factors, the variance squeezing and population inversion of such an atom emitted from the cavity, are discussed. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd.
