The gap between academia and industry has never been more noticeable. The South African Association of the Flavour and Fragrance Industry and the University of Johannesburg have joined forces to solve the problem. THE South African Association for theFlavour and Fragrance Industry (SAAFFI) has embarked on a journey, in partnership with the University of Johannesburg (UJ), in order to attract new graduates to the industry and to educate them so that they are of value to both the F&F industry and theindustries it serves. Executive director of SAAFFI, Michael Gristwood, has worked tirelessly for many months to help co-ordinate this initiative - a new course in Flavours and Fragrances on offer through UJ.
