During the last CEN Technical Board WG 83 meeting, a few experts from the national Transport Ministries asked for a faster development of the standards needed to support the RID/ADR Framework Directives and particularly the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive (99/36/EC).The Commission gave a communication on the latest decisions taken by the group of experts of the Member States on Transport of Dangerous Goods. A decision will be taken before the end of the year on the postponement of the implementation (in absence of standards) for defined series of equipment of the Directive 99/36/EC from July 2001 to July 2003.
