摘要

The contribution of interface energy to the free energy of a polycrystalline material increases reciprocally with the grain size. In ultra-fine grained materials, this contribution is a strong driving force for relaxation mechanisms such as grain growth. Two other possible ways of relaxation are the local reduction of the specific grain boundary energy γ by rotation of the boundary plane or by changes in the misorientation of the grains. The latter is the topic of the present paper.
