You're a very small scrap operator. When and why did you join ISRI? We joined ISRI in 1995. Our gross sales were probably about 16,000 dollars a year, so 1,000 dollars in dues seemed extravagant. But we made the decision to join, and it was a smart move. I'm basically a peddler. For a guy like me, the problem was knowing where to sell my material. Through ISRI I learned where to go. So you joined to learn where to sell your scrap? That and [for] the networking and learning. The big eye-opener came when I was at an ISRI meeting, listening to an EPA rep from Region 6 talk about stormwater. I had no idea I could be liable for something like that. So the big thing ISRI has done for me is help me know what guidelines I need to meet.
