BlueScope Steel Chief Executive Paul O'Malley acknowledged that lower iron ore and coking coal prices had offered some margin relief this year. But he said the Australian steelmaker's iron sands operation in New Zealand would be the biggest contributor to managing raw materials costs. The flats producer told its annual general meeting in Melbourne this week that it expanded iron sands output at its Taharoa mine and started exports from its Waikato North Head mine in fiscal 2012.
