Ukranian pig iron sale prices into Turkey track below scrap

Sales of basic pig iron to Turkish steelmakers from Ukraine this week tracked around $5/mt below premium heavy melting scrap I/I I (80/20 blend) prices, with $390/mt CFR Aliaga achieved for a small shipment and another 10,000 mt offered at the same price to Marmara, market participants said Friday. The $390/mt CFR Marmara offer has not been taken up just yet. With scrap falling at the end of the week, buyers were reticent.
