While Donald Trump?s victory in the US presidential election took the European steel market by surprise, many already had strong ideas early Wednesday regarding the likely impact. Global investment banking firm Jefferies, in a note issued by analysts from its European headquarters in London, predicted the US steel industry would "stand out as a unique beneficiary of a Trump presidency" and that "protectionism will significantly rise."
