Japanese FeCr price at year- to-date low for third week

The spot price of high carbon ferrochrome imported into Japan stayed at 86-90 cents/lb CIF Japan Thursday, unchanged from a week earlier and at the lowest level so far this year for three weeks running, according to Platts' assessments. The assessment is for Indian-origin high-carbon lumpy ferrochrome (60-65% chrome, maximum 8% carbon, 2% silicon). One Japanese trader said his Indian supplier has raised its offer to 96 cents/ lb CIF Japan for 100-200 mt cargo to be shipped this month.
