The Scandinavian Journal of Public Health intends over the next years to develop a news section for practitioners, researcher and policymakers on public health issues and health policy. We begin this news section with our approach towards the Nordic Ministers of Health. The Nordic Ministers of Health have been invited by the Editor to write about the five most important health policy/public health decisions or events in their countries during 2007. We begin with the Ministers from Finland and Iceland, and bring contributions from the other Nordic Ministers in the next issues.
