The pharyngoesophageal defect is a common reconstructive challenge following oncological ablative surgery or trauma. Free flaps are often excellent choices for these cases, but one often needs to consider good alternatives with lower operative time. These other considerations are needed in certain circumstances such as in the elderly, the medically compromised, or after unsuccessful free flaps. One such option is jejunal myomucosal graft, which avoids the time of a microvascular anastomosis set-up, completion, and monitoring. Moreover, it is an enduring and recipient-site-compatible graft if performed properly. The technique is described in this article.
