Diplocaulobium chrysotropis: Little Stars with a Big Clove Fragrance

THERE ARE MANY THINGS I CAN tell you about Diplocaulobium chrysotropis: It is compact, free-flowering, fragrant, makes a wonderful specimen plant, and has interesting foliage and blooms multiple times per year. I should also mention that the flowers are short-lived, lasting only two to four days. For many people, that is enough to disqualify it as a desirable addition to a collection, but for those of us who grow other Diplocaulobium species we think, "Wow, four whole days!" Everything is relative and because many Diplocaulobium flowers last only a few hours, four days can be something to get excited about.
