I have read the article by Fine et al., "Succesful treatment of ligneous gingivitis with warfarin," with interest and I believe the authors provide a nice summary on the current status of treatment of ligneous periodontitis.However, the article contains a statement that I believe can be misleading for the readers. At the beginning of the discussion section, the authors state that "ligneous gingivitis was first reported in 1847."
