The adaptive performances of two wave-front correctors are tested in introducing Zernike aberrations in our experiment. Both of the wave-front correctors are membrane mirrors, one has 59 channels (59 ch) with a circle effective area, another has 144 channels (144 ch) with a square effective area. The wave front correctors are mounted with matched wave-front sensors separately to generate four kinds of the most dominant Zernike aberrations in visual performance. As the 144 ch wave-front corrector has more channels in a limited area, the generated Zernike coefficients are more exact than the 59 ch wave-front corrector in the range of +/- 1 mu m. But for the larger range from +/- 1 mu m to +/- 3 mu m, the 59 ch wave-front corrector is more confident because of higher stoke moving amplitude. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
