I began writing about oil and met Vern Myers,who would soon launch Oilweek,in 1950.It was not what I had intended.I was 19,footloose,and fancy free,and had come to Calgary seeking a job with the morning Albertan newspaper because I had been told that it was"under-staffed,over-worked,and the best school of journalism in western Canada."
