US August Crude Imports Show Year-on-Year Increase of 700,000 b/d

If the US is slowly weaning itself off of crude imports, it did not show up in the August data. Crude imports rose by 700,000 barrels per day in August compared with August 2009, according to figures released on Thursday by the Energy Information Agency (EIA).
