Apache Plans Bond Issue

Apache Corp. said it plans to sell $1.5 bil- lion in 30-year bonds to help finance its $7 billion purchase of BP assets announced last month (OD Jul.22,p1). Proceeds from the offering will be used to repay borrowings under a bridge loan facility and commercial paper program, which Apache used to fund the $3.1 billion Permi- an Basin portion of the BP deal, which closed Aug.10 (OD Aug.11,p8).
