Diesel prices have been revised upwards in the wake of a major policy thrust, but that has not dented its popularity and it continues to outpace other fuels in sales. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have raised diesel prices five times since the partial de-control in January. Diesel prices have gone up by ? 8.5 per litre since August 2012.
