LPG Dealers Hit Out at Half Baked Cylinder Quota Policy

LPG dealers arc up in arms over the rationing diktat and have begun to take to the streets in protest. Pratap Doshi of the All India LPG Distributors' Federation complained that though the government introduced the ceiling, it offered no system to keep tabs on the number of subsidised cylinders given to each consumer. "There is chaos on both sides- consumers and distributors- over rationins and pricing", he says. He wants the Centre to introduce a monitoring procedure as well to spell out the service charges and commission for distributors on subsidised and market-price cylinders. "If proper transparency is not announced soon, we will stop home delivery of cylinders from October 1," he threatened.
