摘要

IT ALL STARTED WITH A PILOT sitting at the Port O' Call Hotel waiting for a call from the Foothills Hospital-on a pager no less. When a call finally did come in, the pilot would drive over to Field Aviation at the old Calgary International Airport, a quick two-minute jaunt, where he would meet up with a flight nurse. Together they would board a rented helicopter with their gear and a stretcher, and plot the patient's location on a map. After locating the patient and flying to the site, they would transport them to the appropriate medical facility.
