Palm Oil Will Bring Relief on Supply Side in April/Sept 2011

The shortage of palm oil has come to an end, reflected in a significant decline of prices and widening discounts in March and so far in April. The palm oil shortage caused a boost in world demand for seed oils, confirmed by steep increases in world exports of soya oil, sunflower oil and rape oil in Oct/March 2010/11. Palm oil production has started to normalize and to win back market share. This currently coincides with seasonally large South American soya oil production and export supplies.
