Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has completed upgrades to its dynamo steel coil cutting line, expanding its capacity by almost 150 percent, from 72,000 tonnes to 175,000 tonnes, and improving the quality of finished product. The project, which cost about 340 million rubles, was carried out as part of the company's modernization program and was aimed at expanding production of value-added products, a company spokesman told Interfax on November 14. The German-made equipment ensures high quality cutting of strip 0.35-1 mm thick and 50 to 1270 mm wide, while increasing the maximum weight of coils from 6 to 23 tonnes, he said.
