It has been shown that, when the overgrowth time of agrosoddy-podzolic soils increases, the soil acidity increases, the content of total exchangeable bases decreases, and the differentiation of the plow layer by the content of humus occurs due to itsincrease in the 0- to 10-cm layer and decrease at the bottom. It has been proposed to use the degree of humus differentiation in the plow layer for the determination of the period of plowland overgrowth.
