Unspeakable deeds.

When I first came to the United States from Uganda in 1972, I realized there was an etiquette for physicians trained in other countries to follow when retraining. This involved suppression of previous experiences lest they sounded out of tune with the local mores. One must develop a smile that betrayed neither superiority nor gaps in one's knowledge. A fellow immigrant called this "a gesture life." No matter, our children will be participators. As years pass and some credibility is established, some experiences leak. If smartly timed, they are well received.There are some, however, that remain unspeakable. They are difficult to recount to fellow obstetricians and impossible to confess to my children.
