Vineyard project delivers first offshore wind power; Empire cancels offtake contract

Power from the 800-MW Vineyard Wind 1 project was deliveredto the New England power grid for the first time Jan. 3, withone turbine delivering about 5 MW of power and the developersexpecting to have five turbines operating at full capacity early in2024. Additionally, the Empire 2 Wind project canceled its offtakeagreement with New York regulators.
