摘要

Systematic studies of the interaction on interfaces in composites based on aluminum and aluminum-silicon alloys of various compositions containing silicon carbide particles or fibers were carried out. It is shown that the type of hardening element does not have a substantial effect on the character of interaction: alpha- and beta-modifications of SiC obtained by various methods behave practically the same upon direct contact with the aluminum melt or aluminum-silicon alloy. The phase diagram of the Al-Si-C system, including for nonequilibrium conditions, was refined with the use of the results obtained on the structure and phase diagram of composites after long holding at 700, 800, and 900 deg C as well as the published data. It is shown that an irreversible character of interaction in composites is often related to inhibition or complete suppression of certain reactions realized only under metastable equilibrium conditions.
