In contrast to the former book, which is concerned with the aesthetic lineage of Carolina pottery, The Remarkable Potters of Seagrove looks very much more at the genealogy and human history of the potters of Seagrove. Charlotte Vestal Brown has compiled an immense amount of information and chronicles the growth and development of Seagrove and its immediate neighbourhood as a potter's enclave with astonishing clarity, given the complex nature of the relationships amongst the various potting dynasties.
