摘要

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the hybrid organic (polypyrrole) - inorganic (zinc) coatings as corrosion controlling layer for stainless steel and investigate if such films can prove adequate protection under different conditions.A single-step electropolymerization of pyrrole on zinc-coated steel electrodes was investigated under several techniques (potentiodynamic,galvanostatic and potentiostatic modes) in tartrate aqueous medium.In order to obtain additional information concerning the morphology of the polymer coatings,SEM measurements were performed on PPy films.Adherent and homogeneous PPy coatings were obtained using tartrate counter-ions.The corrosion behaviour of zinc-coated steel electrodes electrochemical modified by PPy films was estimated by DC polarization in 3 wt% NaCl aggressive solutions.The obtained results show that the PPy coatings increase the corrosion potential and reduce the corrosion current.
