EXTRUSION OF HOLLOW ARTICLES WITH FLARING OF THE WORKPIECE IN A MOVING DIE

We have developed a new and highly effective technique for extruding the hollow articles with expansion of the workpiece in a moving die that makes it possible to reduce the specific extruding force by 20% in comparison with the traditional extrusion process. We have created a theory for determining the basic parameters of this technique that generalizes the various extrusion process variants. The high accuracy of the analytic relations is confirmed by extensive experimental data.
