DETERMINING THE PARAMETERS OF THE HOB FOR CUTTING A PLANE GEAR

The planocylindrical gearings [1 and 2] that consist of a plane gear and a cylindrical pinion are widely used in various fields of machinery building. They are used in the machine tools, speed reducers, differentials, instruments, and various precision and high-speed assemblies. These gearings can be used with practically any arrangement of the axes in space and with various transfer ratios; they are constructively simple and make it possible to create compact assemblies. The characteristic features of the plane-gear drives with the cylindrical pinion include the possibility of free displacement of the pinion along its axis and the absence of the action on it of the axial forces (except for the axial components of the friction forces between the teeth).
