摘要

Through uniaxial compression tests of seven rock types and four test conditions, it was found that both the rock type and test parameters affect the behavior of EMR generation in rocks under loading. However, this research only involved laboratory testing, and there remain many obstacles before in-situ testing of EMR emission can be conducted in practice. In comparison to instruments such as AE sensors, which must be placed in direct contact with bedrock, detection of EMR could be performed with a simple antenna, without contact with the bedrock. The technique, which is expected to be an inexpensive technique for rock failure monitoring, deserves attention and is well worth further investigation.
