Power demand hiked across all US grid operators on Jan. 29 asthe workweek began but capture price movements were mixed ashigher supply compensated for demand in some regions.The Midcontinent Independent System Operator territory sawa 10.69 rise in peakload demand even though the average dailytemperature was up by one degree Fahrenheit. Nevertheless,Renewable Capture Prices increased only in the Indiana Hub, whilethey shed between 25 cents and $5 in the Louisiana and MinnesotaHubs. Renewable generation helped ease bullish demand pressure,as wind supply was seen to increase by 59, or 124.91 GWh. PlattsRenewable Penetration Index reached 15.45 of the electricity mixduring on-peak hours and 16.56 during off-peak.
