Updated PAS 110 specification for digestate

The PAS 110 specification for anaerobic digestate has now been updated by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL), following lengthy discussions within a stakeholder working group (which ESA participated in) and a public consultation at the end of 2013. The main changes include the so called stability criteria or new residual biogas potential (RBP) test limits, tighter limits on physical contaminants (such as plastics) and exemptions on pasteurisation of digestate for farming cooperatives. These changes should better reflect a fast changing AD sector, taking into account lessons learned since the last version of PAS 110 from 2010.
