European hot-rolled coil prices remained unchanged on April 5 as trading activity has been muted and distributors avoided restocking. “The sentiment is downward as demand is still low and the mills have not confirmed any production cuts although that was expected,” a service center said. “Current coil prices from the mills are less competitive than the processed coil from the service centers. The production cuts are needed, otherwise the prices will continue dropping.”
