Glasgow-based Andrew Muirhead & Son continues to set the pace in railway interior upholstery applications, with the launch of a new lightweight seating leather that ticks all the low-carbon boxes. Voyager is the latest development in the company's focus on reducing its carbon footprint and the made-to-order leather is 30% lighter (600g per square metre) than other similar upholsteries, while still a full 1 mm in thickness (less weight doesn't mean less leather), Most importantly, it is still 100% genuine leather - rather than reconstituted, recycled or rehashed. The raw material has not been changed and it still has all the properties you would expect from genuine leather, and it also has greater elasticity than standard leather, which allows for more flexible usage. As you would expect from a bespoke product, Voyager can be specified in a colour to suit any seating scheme.
