摘要

From 2001-2004, the European Process Safety Centre (EPSC) co-ordinated a three-year project on the topic of human factors in safety, known as the Process Industries Safety Management Thematic Network (PRISM). The project was funded by the European Union. Work was carried out over a range of safety-related areas by four Focus Groups, each led by a Principal Contractor. The Focus Groups were supported by potential user advisers and a network of project members drawn from industry, academia, consultancies and regulatory bodies across the entire European Union, John Ormond Management Consultants Ltd (JOMC) was the Principal Contractor for the area of behavioural safety applications and this paper describes the work that JOMC carried out aimed at providing safety advice and assistance to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). For further details about the PRISM Project, see references 1 and 2.
