Rising LPG exports from the Middle East and west Africa over the next seven years could boost trading activity by around 8pc/yr,and offer robust support to LPG shipping freight rates,according to speakers at this month's Purvin & Gertz 9th Asia LPG Seminar in Singapore(see pp8-10)."The demand outlook remains strong and the perspectives for the shipping sector are very good," said Patrick O'Neill,a shipbroker with Bergesen in Japan."Most of the new export plants to come on stream are located far from importing countries and this is good news for shipping."
